Welcome to our website. Family Camp is now open! We had to work especially hard to get the opening accomplished, due to the heavy snowfall this past winter.
We hope you will enjoy your stay at camp and, if you are just checking out our website, please call and reserve your cabin as soon as possible so as to insure your accommodations.
Now that we are at camp all reservation phone calls must go to (209) 258-8810, all other phone numbers are closed. Also please call camp to verify availability of cabins after July 1st. as there will be no automatic updates to website after family camp is open. Thank You!

Taken from Mayor Ann Johnston’s State of the City address and quoted inThe Record on May 14, 2010: Johnson called a nonprofit group that took over operation of the city’s municipal camp at Silver Lake, saving it from closure, a “shining example of the heart and soul of the city.”
Taken from an article written by Lori Gilbert about Stockton Silver Lake Camp and quoted in The Record on April 17, 2010:
“It’s one shining light Stockton has. It should be advertised everywhere. Stockton may be the saddest, most illiterate and all kinds of things, but this is a diamond. It was meant to be. It’s got soul now. It’s not a shell of a place. It’s honestly got a soul. It feels vivacious, vibrant. It’s going to make it.” Wendy Frush, camper for over 56 years and former camp employee.
“There was such a positive attitude up there last summer. Not that it wasn’t there in the past; it just seemed more so. We thought. ‘How are they going to pull this off?’ It’s a monumental task. I don’t know if I would have taken that on. We were pleasantly surprised at how positive everybody was.” Sue Chinchiolo, camper for more than 30 years.

The Silver Lake Campers Association is a nonprofit group that has worked to support the City of Stockton’s operation of Silver Lake Family Camp for more than 50 years. In the past, the Association has provided “those little extras” that enhance the Family Camp experience. Last year the Silver Lake Campers Association stepped in to fill the void that was left when the camp was closed by the City of Stockton. By operating Silver Lake Family Camp, the Association was able to let campers enjoy the benefits of all those who want to make Silver Lake Camp a part of their vacation plans.
Anyone interested in joining the Association should call Sharon Waugh at (209) 478-8968.
